Fall lawn winterization

Fall is a great time to start preparing your lawn for a great show next season. your lawn

will appreciate the removal of any weeds as they are taking nutrients from the soil that the lawn needs. Also limits those weeds from seeding and coming back even more in the spring.

Overseeding and core aeration is another great option for your lawn to get a head start

for next year. this allows air to penetrate the soil and seeding to fill in any gaps where the grass wasn't as thick.

The last tip for a great lawn in the spring is the fertilize now in the fall. with the cooler

weather the grass is at its optimal time where it's going to best use the nutrients that you add as it's winterizing itself.

The classic thing in fall is obviously all the leaves in big piles on lawns, well this may look

great for the time being but will damage the lawn if left alone. Leaves are good nutrients to rot down back into the soil however too many leaves will suffocate the grass and cause bare spots in the spring. Having a few leaves sprinkled here and there is okay but too many will damage not only your lawn but flower beds as well.
